Jillian Adams PT, Cert. MDT

Clinical Director/Co-owner
Jillian Adams - Physiotherapist - Co Owner

Born and raised in Newfoundland, Jillian decided she wanted to become a physiotherapist after injuring her hand while playing sports.

She obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) with a major in Behavioural Neuroscience and a minor in Chemistry from Memorial University of Newfoundland, followed by a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from Robert Gordon University in Scotland.

After completing her master's degree in 2013, Jillian moved to Ottawa, Ontario, where she practised for eight years. During that time, she was nominated for Physiotherapist of the Year in the Faces Magazine Ottawa Awards. Jillian returned to Newfoundland in 2021.

Jillian is always looking for the latest research-supported methods and techniques to offer the best possible care to her clients. She is passionate about Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), also known as the McKenzie Method. She is the Project Manager for the MICANADA Development Committee for MDT Awareness and is a certified MDT clinician, one of only two in Newfoundland.

She has additional training in acupuncture, dry needling, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, concussion management, and vestibular rehabilitation, including the assessment and treatment of vertigo. She has an active treatment style focused on empowering clients to take control of their pain through education and individualised exercise programs, supplemented with manual therapy.

When Jillian isn't seeing patients, she keeps active by walking her dog, Cashew, and exercising. Her favourite forms of exercise are strength training, yoga, and kickboxing.

She believes that exercise and education are the foundations of recovery and are essential to helping people achieve a healthier, more active life.

Originally from Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Liam began his post-secondary education at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics and Recreation (Kinesiology) in 2023. He then pursued a Master of Science in Physiotherapy at the University of Essex, graduating in 2025. While at the University of Essex, Liam competed for the university's powerlifting team. This experience influenced his dissertation research, which examined the prevalence and characteristics of musculoskeletal injuries in powerlifters through a cross-sectional study. Following the completion of his studies, Liam returned to Newfoundland to begin his career as a physiotherapist, with a particular interest in serving rural communities.

Liam's passion for physiotherapy began following a significant knee injury sustained during hockey tryouts at the age of 17. Experiencing the challenges of injury recovery and limited access to rehabilitation services in a rural community inspired him to pursue a career dedicated to helping others return to the activities most meaningful to them.

Throughout his education, Liam developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and patient-centred care. He is committed to combining the best available research evidence with individual patient goals and values to provide effective, individualised treatment plans. Liam has a particular clinical interest in musculoskeletal conditions, especially those involving ligament and tendon injuries, as well as strength-based rehabilitation and return-to-sport programming. He enjoys working with individuals of all ages and activity levels, helping patients achieve their personal goals—whether that means returning to competitive sport, maintaining an active lifestyle, or improving everyday function and quality of life.

Outside the clinic, you'll often find Liam at the gym, hiking, golfing, travelling, or cheering on his favourite teams at the stadium.
